WOW. Yes, WOW. We left Baltimore on WOW airlines on Wednesday July 6 at 8 pm, one hour late. One extra hour to sit down for dinner since WOW saves money and flies for less by not serving peanuts. Sat next to a group of 8 guys going to Iceland for a bachelor party. Is destination bachelor party a thing? Why WOW? WOW flies from BWI to Iceland and many other cities in Europe for very low cost. How do they do it? No peanuts. To choose your seat you have to pay extra. More legroom, higher cost. Carry ons allowed free but only up to 11 pounds. Above that there is a fee. Only one item person - everything has to fit in carry on including purses, snacks cameras. No problem, we will put extras in suitcase. Ka-Ching. Extra suitcase costs extra and limited to 20kg or 44 pounds. Above that? Extra charge. However, as I type this while sitting on the first of four WOW flights, check in was easy and smooth. From 30,000 feet in the air, the flight is pleasant. Except for the not sleeping part. Did I mention that it is 12:45 am and the sun is rising? Landing in an hour. Add four hours for EST. Adrian just showed me a map that puts us just east of Greenland. Left Baltimore at 93F and expecting to land in the upper 40s. Looking forward to hitting the road in Iceland.
